WSL World Champion 2025. Shaper. Artist.
And starting May 12, he'll be here — within reach.

There are rare moments in surfing. Moments when history meets everyday life. Kai Ellice-Flint, WSL Longboard World Champion 2025, is coming to the Shapers Club this May. And with him, an opportunity few longboarders in Europe will ever have.

Who is Kai Ellice-Flint?

Born in 1996 in Byron Bay, Australia, Kai Ellice-Flint isn't just a champion — he's an anomaly in modern surfing. In November 2025, he won the WSL Longboard World Champion title in El Sunzal, El Salvador, beating French world number 1 Édouard Delpero in the final. What makes this victory extraordinary? He won this title on a board he himself shaped, glassed, and airbrushed. With his own hands.

This is the 8th time Australia has won the longboard world title — a lineage that includes Nat Young, Harrison Roach, and Harley Ingleby. Kai is now part of it.

But Kai isn't just a competitor. From Byron Bay, he runs Higher State Productions, his own surfboard brand. Every board that leaves his workshop is shaped and finalized through a process he himself describes as "meticulous, almost obsessive" — embodying elegance, precision, and Australian craftsmanship. His boards are not available in stores. They are on a waiting list. And shipping costs from Australia can easily exceed €300 to €400.

Higher State: A Shaping Philosophy

Higher State Productions is not a mass-production brand. It's the expression of a craftsman who considers every curve, every concave, every rail as an artistic as much as a technical decision. Kai designs his own fins — the Omni, Legacy, and SixtySix fins, tailored for classic noseriding as well as engaged modern surfing — and is personally involved in every step of manufacturing, from blank to finish.

His shapes cover the entire range of contemporary longboarding: from fluid and technical noseriders to versatile midlengths, as well as performance longboards capable of combining authentic glide and engaged maneuvers. Whether you're a fan of cross-stepping and pure noseriding, a style surfer looking for big curves, or a modern longboarder who wants reactivity — there's a Higher State for you.

And while ordering from Australia involves delays, a waiting list, and several hundred euros in shipping costs... ordering in May at the Shapers Club is another story.

On May 12, he's here. This is your moment.

For a few days in May, Kai will be present at the Shapers Club in Marennes. He will shape, share his world, and most importantly: he will be available to take your custom orders directly.

  • No more shipping fees. You leave with your board. Period.
  • You pick up the board from the shaper himself. Not an intermediary, not a carrier — him.
  • Your shape discussed directly with the World Champion. Your dimensions, your surfing style, your conditions — Kai adapts each board to the person who will ride it.
  • You access Higher State without a waiting list. And without the barrier of the other side of the world.
