Since its creation in the 1970s by Frederick Charles Herzog, better known as Mr. Zog, Mr. Zog's Sex Wax has become an iconic brand in the world of surfing. Originally from California, where he grew up surrounded by waves and studied at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Mr. Zog was ideally placed to understand the needs of surfers.
The genesis of Sex Wax dates back to the early 70s. Mr. Zog, then running a small surf shop in Goleta, partnered with Nate Skinner, a chemist, to develop a revolutionary wax formula. Their collaboration bore fruit and after several trials, they developed the perfect formula that significantly improved grip on surfboards. Thus, the legendary Sex Wax was born.

The name "Sex Wax" and its slogan "The best for your stick" play on an image that is both provocative and parodic, a marketing strategy that has certainly made waves. Indeed, this sexually suggestive approach has attracted attention, elicited diverse reactions, and even led to the brand's logos being banned in certain places.
Beyond its proven effectiveness, Sex Wax has established itself as a symbol of counter-culture thanks to its unique marketing. The brand's promotional stickers and t-shirts quickly became collector's items, sought after even by those who do not surf.
The product range has expanded over time. Initially designed specifically for surfing, Sex Wax now offers variants adapted to different water temperatures and even to other sports such as snowboarding and ice hockey. Each product, such as Quick Humps, Really Tacky, and Navel Wax, is designed to meet the specific requirements of each activity.
In response to the popularity of its unique scent, Mr. Zog's has also diversified its range to include air fresheners and scented candles, allowing fans to enjoy the distinctive aroma of Sex Wax in various contexts of their daily lives.
Today, Sex Wax remains a preferred choice among surfers worldwide, recognized for its effectiveness and distinctive brand identity, confirming its status as an icon in the world of surfing.
