Thirty-five years. That's how long it took to transform a shaping workshop in L'Houmeau into what the Shapers Club is today: a shop, a workshop, a bar, a training space, surf trips, and above all, a living place where legendary shapers, local surfers, and lovers of fine craftsmanship meet.
It all started in 1991. Renaud and Thomas Cardinal opened the doors of UWL Surfboards with a simple idea: to make good boards, choose them well, and share this passion with those who understand it. Thirty-five years later, some of the world's best shapers have passed through the workshop. Thousands of boards have come out of it. And the project has never stopped growing.
Today, the Shapers Club House in Marennes embodies all of this: a place designed by surfers, for surfers — and open to anyone who appreciates what it represents.
To mark this anniversary, we've planned two days that reflect who we are.
Friday, July 3rd — The Party
We're starting strong. The Shapers Club House hosts two major figures of the French alternative scene for a party that promises to be packed — less than 100 spots available.
DJ Pone takes the decks for a hybrid hip-hop / electro live set. Founder of Birdy Nam Nam, Victoire de la Musique award winner, trained in DMC championships and the Double H DJ Crew, he has played alongside NTM, Casseurs Flowters, Scred Connexion, and Svinkels. Thirty years of career, an EP on Ed Banger, and formidable precision behind the turntables.
Gérard Baste, leader of Svinkels and figure of French Slip-Hop, takes over live. Unique flow, biting humor, extraordinary stage energy. The kind of concert that's unlike anything else.
Opening act: Deejay Poas.

Saturday, July 4th — The Big Day
The next day, it's open house. Free entry from 10 AM, for everyone.
On the program: an outdoor festive village, entertainment all day long, and continuous musical programming from 10 AM to midnight with ODJ on the decks. Live: Archi Deep at 7 PM and Dîner de Famille — psychedelic garage rock — at 9 PM.
Entertainment: pétanque tournament at 3 PM, 25-meter double slip-n-slide, skate competition, beer pong, big raffle with a surfboard to be won, vintage photo booth, tattooing, food trucks, and bar open all day.
Drink partners: Gallia, Maison Villevert, La Martiniquaise, Deljoy, Marennes Boissons.
